Stones
Ryan is having his kidney stone broken up into a million pieces on Wednesday. it’s outpatient surgery, and they say we will be there from about 10am until about 3pm. He plans to go back to work the next day. I hope everything goes as flawlessly as expected. I’m worried about him.

Hi willowfae,
I was over at Mudville Gazette, read Greyhawk’s “On Leaving”, bounced from your comment to your old xanga site to here.
After 66 years, I’ve found that almost everyone is a poor judge of themselved and their situation: Either they’re too hard on themselves, or too easy. It’s pretty clear which category you fall in.
As someone who suffered from depression in the past, I truly empathize. I can already tell from your writing that you are an exceptional person. I hope Ryan is smart enough to know how lucky he is.
90% of what we worry about never happens (I guess you’ve already heard that). I finally got tired of getting all worked up over false alarms – and also saw all that worry was just causing self-fulfilling prophecies. I also turned loose of some other stuff, which I’ll elaborate on if you’re interested.
You might say that the secret of life is knowing when enough is enough. We often think we can control events, but life is like being in a boat on a wide river. We can paddle from bank to bank, but the river is carrying us onward, and we don’t know what’s around the next bend.
My wish for you is that you don’t waste as many days as I did worrying about yesterday or tomorrow, letting today get away. Mame had it right: “Life is a banquet – and most poor suckers are starving”. Savor today – there’s not an endless supply of them.

Hi,
I surfed over acros the waves to visit. From the bits I have read so far, it looks like we have more than a few things in common.
Hang in there. It gets better, I promise.
And when times get tough, just surf over to see me. Im online almost every day, and I care.
